Off-Road ACE Tour and Hoover Dam Stop
Your trip begins with pick up from your strip hotel in luxury vehicle. You will be greeted by a professional guide who will provide check-in paperwork. Your first stop will be Hoover Dam where you will view the breath-taking scenery that puts into perspective the grandiosity of Mother Nature. The chiseling of massive rock faces by the combined forces of wind and rain over millions of years that shaped the deep Black Canyon gorge. These views provide for an excellent back-drop to take pictures of the Hoover Dam and Black Canyon from atop the Pat Tillman Bridge walkway located 900 feet above the river. From there the trip continues on to the El Dorado Jeep Trail staging area.
At the staging area, you will be provided with all safety gear (helmet, gloves, and goggles) and your guide will review safety and equipment usage and handling as well as allow you the opportunity take a few orientation laps around the staging area lot.
El Dorado Jeep Trail
The El Dorado Jeep Trail is a 13-mile backcountry trail that follows washes through Lake Mead National Recreation Area to the Colorado River. The trail runs through the Black Mountains, a breathtaking landscape of volcanic origin adorned by a vast and diverse expanse of shrubs, Joshua trees, and cactus on desert uplands. Be sure to look out for bighorn sheep, Nevada’s State Animal. Along the way, you will pass old abandoned gold mines that have now been turned into bird sanctuaries.
The Trail ends in a thicket of saltcedar and cattails growing on the banks of the Colorado River. There you will have the option of a short hike up a cliff overlooking the river and lake Mojave with the Chalk Cliffs shimmering in the distance.
After a short break, the tour heads back to the staging area where snacks and water will be served followed by the drive back to your place of pick-up
